Harvest Festival
On 24 September we shall as usual be supporting the Harrogate Homeless Project.  They are always very pleased to receive whatever we send, but they did say that tea, coffee and sugar, cereals, long life milk, tinned meat and tinned potatoes, and toiletries are particularly useful.

September onwards
From today, you’ll notice some changes to the pattern of daily services. Fr Gary will also be changing his day off from a Monday to a Saturday. A diary update is  available, which also lists the readings etc for each Sunday – and has all the details of the daily pattern up to the end of the year. Please keep an additional eye on the pewsheet – where we’ll try to keep you informed of any last minute changes that have become necessary.

Fr Gary is delighted to announce that the Chancellor of the Diocese has approved our Faculty application for the new heating scheme.
(Faculty jurisdiction is the legal process which exempts the Church of England from having to use the local planning system). Work is already in hand to agree a start date and order the new radiators as well as to fit a new gas meter.
Once a start date is confirmed (likely to be mid August) the works should take up to 10 weeks. The engineers will work around services as much as possible - but there is likely to be some disruption at times.
Your patience would therefore be very much appreciated.
The excellent news is, of course that by the winter, we should have a church which isn’t freezing! Thanks be to God.

Christian Aid Week
It is Christian Aid week with a special focus on the needs of refugees. This Sunday, there will be an envelope in every hymn book, and those who live within the parish are asked if they could take just a few extra and deliver and collect them in their immediate neighbourhood.  There will be extra envelopes for this on the sidesmen's tables, or please ask Janet Thomas.  All envelopes should be returned to Janet, or to the Parish Office, by the first Sunday in June. Christian Aid
There will be a meeting in the Parish Hall on Saturday 6 May from 10-12.30 about the work of Christian Aid with refugees, which is the focus for Christian Aid week this year. The meeting is organised by the Regional Coordinator for Christian Aid and will be attended by people from churches in the area.  If anyone is interested in attending and hearing more about the work of the organisation, please contact Janet Thomas, as we shall need to know numbers for refreshments.
As we are hosting the meeting, we shall be providing tea or coffee from 9.30 to those who attend, and if anyone is willing just to give half an hour or so to help with that, it would be much appreciated.  Please let Janet know if you are able to do so.
