HARVEST OFFERING
The donations at Harvest Festival were received with great gratitude by the Harrogate Homeless Project.  Many thanks to all who gave items to feed and help those who have no means of feeding themselves.  The weekly collection will continue, with a box by the Duchy Road door and the Lady Chapel door.  If each member of the congregation could give items to the value of £1 a week, we would be raising more than £2,000 a year for the Project.  If you find it difficult to shop, or are unsure what to buy, you are welcome to give the occasional cash donation to Janet Thomas or Shirley Simpson, who will happily buy the items on your behalf.

SONGS FROM THE SHOWS
Thank you to everyone who supported the ‘Songs from the Shows’ concert by the Harrogate Symphony Orchestra.  The evening was a huge success and due to the soloists not charging for their services, we have £2820 for the Development fund. A big thank you to those who helped at this event.

FROM FR GORDON
Over the past few weeks, Julie and I have received many good wishes and kind cards for which we are thankful. We have arrived safely in our new home and look forward to starting the next part of our lives here in West Yorkshire. We were overwhelmed by the leaving gifts that we received. Thank You all for your kindness and generosity. For those who are wondering what we spent the money buying, we bought a fridge freezer for the new house as our old one died a month ago. Be assured of my prayers as St Wilfrid's carries on proclaiming the Kingdom of God to the people of  Harrogate. Once again, Thank You for your kindness toward me and Julie.

A MESSAGE FROM FR GARETH
My dear Friends at St. Wilfrid's,
This note is my way of saying farewell to you all. With my goodbye come also my deepest and most grateful thanks for putting up with me over the past years. All of you will have a special place in my memories and in my prayers, for however many years I have left. Thank you for the gift of your trust and confidences, thank you for the gift of your laughter and, sometimes, your tears. Thank you for allowing me to serve you both pastorally and in serving the Liturgy for you in the Mass. It has all been part of the focus of my priestly life in retirement.
You should also know that I have entered into a new relationship and that I shall be moving to Yeovil, Somerset, as soon as possible. The new lady in my life is called Hannah. All of my closest friends who know are prayerfully supportive of us. I hope that you, who know know via this note, will support us too, in your hearts and prayers.
Saying goodbye is never easy, it's a true bereavement. You may think I've taken the easy (cowards) way out by writing this, but I want you to know that my RAF life contained more farewells that I would ever wish to repeat. Goodbyes became ever more difficult to deal with so, please understand and forgive. Please pray for me and Hannah, as we shall pray for you..................... Your friend and priest................Gareth
