Leonard Sanderman - Director of Music, Organist & Master of the Choristers
Leonard was Organ Scholar at Cheltenham College from 2009-10, after which he left for Keble College, Oxford (2010-2013) where he read music and held the Organ Scholarship. From 2011-13, he combined this with the post of Resident Organist at Pusey House, Oxford. From 2013-14 he was Organ Scholar at Chichester Cathedral.
He was initially taught the organ by his father, and later by Clive Driskill-Smith, Sietze de Vries, Ben van Oosten, and Steven Grahl.
He participated in masterclasses with Hans Haselböck, Pieter van Dijk and Peter Williams. Besides being active as performer internationally, he is a commissioned composer in which capacity he has also contributed to the New Dutch Hymnal. Furthermore he performed for a live broadcast on BBC 3 and features on many CD recordings.
Tim Gray - Parish Organist
After university at Durham, where he was a pupil of Conrad Eden, and then a further year at Reading, where he studied with Dr Harold Darke, Tim Gray taught music first at Dunstable Grammar School, and then at Hitchin Grammar School, where he was also organist and choirmaster of Hitchin Parish Church. He continued his organ studies first with Peter Hurford at St Albans, and then with Arthur Wills at Ely, and passed his FRCO in 1967. He moved to Leeds in 1975, to take up a post at the City of Leeds College of Music, where he worked for 20 years, also becoming a part-time lecturer at the Open University, for over 25 years. In 1977 he became Organist and Choirmaster at St Wilfrid's, and was appointed Parish Organist in 1991. Tim has been married to Angela since 1966; they have two children, and three grandchildren.
